Spirit: I was fortunate to have an Aussie mum with wanderlust, which she passed along to me. She was a free spirit with a knack for adventure, travel, our Earth, exploring, and more than often, pranking and mischievous ways. Through her, I was gifted the vision and passion of an ever-widening world to go out and enjoy, experience, and meld with in a most positive manner.....the more you saw, the bigger it became, and the more wonderful experience and impact you could dive into and share.
Fur: Animals always filled my personal being. When I was "itty-bitty", I would do the toddler 'monster-walk' up to hug any animal in my sight. When a bit older, I would bring home the litters of kittens dumped at a local golf course, foster them, and bury my face in my own cats' bellies to soothe my happy-sadness when they were adopted.
And now a camera: a "real" camera entered my life by accident. It then opened me up to experiences I never could have imagined, and I now share those with you.
The humble camera, The metal tube filled with glass has the wondrous ability to grab
light... image... the present...
in a way the ever moving reality delivered by our eyes cannot,
this ability to stop time is rarely pondered by our brain while surrounded by the technologically snowballing existence we share in this age
Paws to think on this magical feet (pun intended)
While the politics of captive wild animals is all to Loud and the ones shouting the most are listening the least, I quietly ponder my experience of the natural world and the one us humans are replacing it with, my eyes have seen many sides of this story and through this journey I have arrived at place where I can see the value of wild species kept safe in captivity, My emotions make clear that all wild animals "should be wild" however my Intelligence and observation give proof that people devoting their lives to keeping wild animals in captive environments has its place. Mostly these animals enjoy freedom from disease, parasites, starvation and poaching while in some lucky cases they also get to visit natural environments to partake in the behaviors they enjoy, only a few places like this exist and I seek them out.
If you have the experience of sharing a W.A.L.K. with an eager dog, you know, the one that is so happy the second the leash is even touched, and see the excitement and pleasure she gets from this captive venture into the wild than you can surly imagine the energy and eagerness a Mountain Lioness has to venture into her rightful domain and the enjoyment and value she gets from leaping loping and lounging where she knows she belongs. believe me it is astonishing and profound to see
But its only the tip of the Iceberg.
